The Mirrorstone 9kW Air Source Heat Pump 1 Phase is a compact and efficient heat pump that’s perfect for smaller properties. Using electricity instead of fossil fuels, this amazing home upgrade can help you save a huge amount of energy, since they use 50-60% less than mains gas systems.
Rather than providing you with instant warmth, this heat pump will give you wonderfully comfortable steady heat over a longer period, letting you retain a consistent temperature throughout your day.
Air source heat pumps are capable of performing all the same functions as traditional boilers, including general heating, underfloor heating and creating a domestic hot water supply. On top of this, they can also provide you with cold water circulation!

How Does It Work?
Generally speaking, air source heat pumps operate in a similar fashion to conventional boilers. They heat water, which is then transported throughout your home. This heat is then supplied to you via radiators. It’s all pretty simple!
The difference is in how they acquire that heat in the first place. It will take in warm air from the outside, which is then used to warm up water within a heat exchanger. Since it does this instead of burning fossil fuels, a heat pump is a much safer way to heat your home.
There is always a little bit of heat in the air, even when it feels very cold to you. While a heat pump will work best in less extreme temperatures, it will still be able to provide you with heat!
This heat pump will function when the air temperature is between -25°C and 45°C, meaning it’s perfectly suited to the British climate.
Low Maintenance
Installing a heat pump is a large task, one that will require several specialists to ensure everything is safe and effective. However, once your new pump is installed, it will require much less fuss compared to a conventional boiler.
Once a year or so, you can carry out a few basic checks to make sure your pump is operating adequately. This includes little tasks like cleaning the fans, ensuring air flow isn’t blocked by leaves and other debris, and clearing out air filters.
Then, every couple of years, you should get in touch with a professional who can carry out a more comprehensive audit. They’ll be able to check for things like leaks, refrigerant pressure levels, and general wear and tear.
As a rule, heat pumps don’t tend to need expensive part replacements, because they don’t have many moving parts, so there’s much less wear and tear on the unit.
Properly maintained in this manner, a heat pump can last you anywhere from 15-50 years!
