How IR Heaters Work

Unpacking how IR Heating works is one of the simplest ways to understand how it can benefit you and your home. It’s easy to say that IR heaters are more efficient, eco-friendlier and more economical than convection heaters– but why is this the case?

IR heating uses a more direct form of heating than convection heaters- known as radiant heating. In simple terms, this simply means that, instead of heating the air around you, IR heating heats you and the objects around you.

It’s able to do this because IR Heaters emit Infrared radiation into your room. This takes the form of waves. These waves get absorbed by the objects they hit, and then re-emitted back out into the room until all the energy in the waves is exhausted.

This creates an even spread of heat very quickly, and despite the name ‘radiation’ it’s an incredibly safe method of heating- in fact IR heating is fantastic for your health!

Discrete Heating

At a glance, it’s hard to tell if our heaters actual are heaters- they really are that discrete. This is because they’re incredibly slim at only 22mm deep, but also because they make no noise while in operation.

Compare this to a radiator, which are usually around 70mm deep and tend to make strange ticks and humming noises all year round. This difference makes IR Panels incredible for home offices, but they have the flexibility to placed just about anywhere you can imagine.

Durability
